Photography was not my original direction….

I first went to college for a degree in Meteorology at Iowa State University, fresh out of high school, in hopes to see the wonders of weather; however, on a storm chase in October of 2019, I captured a photo of a storm (right) that changed everything for me.

After changing majors, I had pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Photography at MSU Mankato in January of 2020. While earning my degree, I worked at my college newspaper from 2021-23 as a Staff Photographer and Photo Editor during the ‘22-23 year as well. I have earned five state-level rewards for my photojournalism with three more being awarded in February.

In summer of 2022, I had my first sports photography internship with the Mankato MoonDogs Baseball Team as the Team Photographer Intern. It was my first taste into sport photography, but it was only the beginning. After completing my classes, I graduated in May of 2023.

Only six days after graduating college, I started my first professional role as the Full-time Multimedia Intern for the Sioux Falls Canaries. I did photography, videography, graphic design, and occasionally handled social media. I met some amazing people, enhanced my skills, learned new ones, and had a great time.

I am a dedicated, hard working, detail-oriented, and passionate individual who is proud of what I have accomplished and I am constantly learning to see what more I can discover with my skills and the vast opportunities that are available.

The road I took was not straight and was more difficult than I had imagined. Even after changing majors and starting college over, I feel I made the right choice. What I have learned and experienced up to this point is nothing short of amazing and I await to see what the future holds.

This is my portfolio website to showcase my abilities through the experiences and work I have completed over the last four years.
